Organization Mission

Hitops4Haiti is a shoe-collection charitable campaign founded by a Phoenix/Scottsdale-area youth (Blake Sosnowitz) combining a love of basketball/sports with compassion for Haiti. Per the founder: "The mission is simple; collect new and slightly used athletic shoes and send them to the children of Haiti. These shoes will then get distributed by C4C volunteers to the children." GoFundMe

Age Restrictions

Not specified — this is an informal, youth-run donation drive; participation is open and family-friendly.

Application Process

No formal application. Supporters donate new or gently used athletic shoes (or funds if they have none to give); the founder and volunteers collect donations door-to-door in Phoenix and Scottsdale and via friends in other neighborhoods. Donated pairs are tagged with a personalized message of hope. (Primary online presence is a GoFundMe fundraiser page.)

Description of Volunteer Service

Volunteers collect, sort, and tag athletic shoes with encouraging messages, which are then shipped to Haiti and distributed to children by partner ("C4C") volunteers on the ground.
