Organization Mission

Harvest Compassion Center (HCC) is a faith-based, donation-based and volunteer-run community resource center providing free food, hygiene items, baby items, and clothing to Arizona residents in need (available once every 30 days). Multiple HCC locations exist — HCC North Phoenix, HCC Maryvale, and HCC West Phoenix — plus affiliated centers elsewhere nationally; the most relevant for a Phoenix-metro student is HCC North Phoenix, 4744 E Thunderbird Rd, Ste 9, Phoenix, AZ 85032.

Age Restrictions

Volunteers must be 13 years of age or older to volunteer without a parent/guardian present. Families with younger children are welcome as long as the children are supervised by a parent. Harvestcompassioncenter

Application Process

Complete a volunteer application (registration required) via the website's Get Involved page or through the VolunteerLocal/JustServe portals, then serve during posted shifts. HCC also welcomes schools, churches, businesses, and community groups to host food and hygiene drives. JustServe

Description of Volunteer Service

Volunteers sort donations, stock shelves, and "shop" alongside guests as they select food, hygiene products, and clothing with dignity. The center functions like a free market where clients choose their own items.
