Age Restrictions

Volunteers must be at least 14 years old. (A separate Teen Volunteering program exists for teens.) glendaleaz


Application Process

Prospective volunteers complete an online application (via Volgistics). Volunteers commit to a regular schedule of 2–4 hours per week and a minimum of 40 hours or 4 months of service (whichever is longer). Short-term volunteer options (under 40 hours) and court-ordered community service placements may be available by contacting the Library Volunteer Coordinator (Cassandra Jarles, 623-930-3544, libraryvolunteers@glendaleaz.com).


Description of Volunteer Service

Volunteers assist with program preparation and participation, organizing and shelving materials, computer assistance, book sales, drive-up window service, and support services across the library system's branches. This is the Glendale, Arizona public library (Main Library, Velma Teague Branch, and Foothills Branch).
