Gathering Humanity

"Organizing community donations & volunteer power to furnish apartments for refugees & others." (Gathering Humanity is a grassroots organization that works hand-in-hand with the federal refugee resettlement agencies in Phoenix to support arriving refugees and other vulnerable populations in Arizona.)
Age Restrictions
No explicit minimum age is published on the official site; many activities (e.g., sewing/assembling kits) are family-friendly and can be done at home or in groups. Confirm on-site volunteer age policies directly with the organization.
Application Process
Volunteers get involved through the website and the organization's JustServe listings, signing up for specific projects (apartment setups, donation collection, kit-making). The Serving Center is located at 6671 E. Baseline Rd. #119, Mesa, AZ 85206.
Description of Volunteer Service
Volunteer teams collect household goods for incoming refugee families and set up their apartments, provide groceries and meals, and assemble hygiene kits, diaper bags, and other care items for refugees and vulnerable mothers. Much of the work can be done as an individual, family, or group.
