Organization Mission

"Our mission is to provide education, tools and services that enable all persons with vision loss to achieve greater independence."

Age Restrictions

Age policies are not clearly specified on the website and appear to vary by program; prospective volunteers should discuss age-related requirements directly with the organization.

Application Process

Interested volunteers contact the organization directly to discuss their interests and schedule a tour. FBC is located in Phoenix, AZ and can be reached at 602-331-7900.

Description of Volunteer Service

Volunteers support programs and services for people with vision loss of all ages — from infants in the Early Childhood Program to school-age students and adults — assisting with education, events, and daily programming. Per the organization's website, FBC was founded in 1952 when "four determined families came together" and "today...proudly serves over 2,000 people of all ages, from newborns to seniors over 100," describing itself as "Arizona's only agency of its kind."
