Organization Mission

"Dignity Health volunteers enhance the patient and visitor experience across its Arizona hospitals, from greeting and clerical support to pet therapy and patient companionship."

Age Restrictions

Varies by hospital and program: Junior/Teen Volunteer programs generally run ages 14–18 (some locations 15–18 or 16–18); Adult Volunteer programs are typically 18+ (Mercy Gilbert requires 19+ and out of high school).

Application Process

Choose your hospital (St. Joseph's, Chandler Regional, Mercy Gilbert, Yavapai Regional, etc.) at dignityhealth.org/arizona, then complete the online volunteer interest form as an adult or teen applicant; expect a background check, immunization/TB requirements, and an orientation session.

Description of Volunteer Service

Volunteers assist in nursing areas and information desks, provide clerical support, help with patient transport, offer companionship or pet-therapy visits, and work in hospital gift shops across Dignity Health's Arizona facilities.
