Organization Mission

“Volunteer Phoenix connects residents with volunteer opportunities across city departments to strengthen the community.”

Age Restrictions

Varies by program — teen programs (e.g., S'edav Va'aki Museum) accept ages 14–17; the Age-Friendly/Experience Corps tutoring initiative is for ages 50+; most general opportunities require volunteers to be 18 or older.

Application Process

Sign up through the relevant program page at phoenix.gov/volunteer (e.g., VITA tax prep, Sky Harbor Navigators, museum volunteering); most programs require an application, and some require training or a background check.

Description of Volunteer Service

Opportunities include serving as a Sky Harbor Airport Navigator, VITA volunteer tax preparer, museum/exhibits volunteer at S'edav Va'aki Museum, or literacy tutor through the Experience Corps program for residents 50 and older.
