Description of Volunteer Service

Students volunteer with local nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and small businesses as part of experiential learning; per a GivePulse case study, "CGCC recorded over 8,000 student hours through service-learning projects in just one semester," involving more than 1,000 students. On December 4, 2024, the CGCC SLCE program received the 21st Annual Governor's Volunteer Service Award (category: Volunteer Engagement), presented through the Governor's Office of Youth, Faith and Family.
