Mission

"The Art Resource Center (ARC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to collect reusable art-worthy materials from individuals and industries and distribute them, free of charge, to nonprofit entities, educators, and community members for the purpose of making art."

Age Restrictions

No strict minimum is stated — the organization notes that many high school students volunteer, typically on Saturdays. Younger volunteers may need to be accompanied by an adult; confirm current policy directly with The ARC.

Application Process

Volunteers are welcome any time the center is open — no formal application is required for individual drop-in volunteering; groups are asked to contact The ARC in advance to schedule a visit and confirm group size.

Description

A 100% volunteer-run, donation-sustained nonprofit based in Tempe that operates roughly 3,000–4,000 square feet of donated, reusable art supplies, distributing over 95% of materials free of charge to teachers, nonprofits, and community art programs, while also hosting an artist-in-residence program and gallery space.
